Training course in psychosocial wellbeing in development, using arts based therapy

Bapu Trust for Research on Mind & Discourse, a Pune based NGO working in the space of community mental health, is offering a course on psychosocial wellbeing in development using Arts Based Therapy (ABT). The course is scheduled to begin in July 2017.

ABT is an evidence-based use of art forms such as drama, music, visual arts to offer choices for persons with mental health problems and psychosocial disabilities. Using this integrated approach, trained individuals can help people with psychosocial disabilities to accomplish their own psychosocial, creative and spiritual goals within a safe, recovery oriented supportive relationships.   

The course is applicable for those working towards healing and recovery with diverse psychosocial and disability needs and people working in development practice with a variety of marginalized groups (women, children, elderly, low-income groups etc.).  Apart from India, interested candidates from Sri Lanka, Thailand, Nepal and Bangladesh can also enrol to the course.
