Do you think teenagers can make their own decisions?

Knowing teenagers with Aarti C Rajaratnam

In some families, teenagers are always encouraged to listen to elders before they take any major decision because it is said that the adults’s voice is the voice of reason. On the other hand, there are families where teenagers are expected to take major decisions by themselves and are pressured to make the ‘right choice’. In this video on teenagers and decision making, our expert Aarti Rajaratnam suggests ways for parents to handle the situation.

‘Knowing teenagers with Aarti C Rajaratnam’ is a fortnightly video column for parents, teachers, and adults who interact with teenagers. Each episode will share insights that will help the audience understand the adolescent mind and behavior.

Aarti C Rajaratnam is a clinical psychologist who has been working with children and teenagers for over two decades.
