Online Summit on Maternal Emotional Health

Pregnancy and Postpartum period is an important phase in a woman’s life. Emotional health during this phase is very important not only for the woman’s life but for the growing fetus and even after the baby is born when it grows up as an individual. But, the majority of times maternal emotional health is not recognized and addressed.

In this edition of Moving Minds, watch Pavitra Jayaraman, Head of Content, White Swan Foundation in conversation with Indian Psychiatry Society - Perinatal Psychiatry Task Force experts on maternal emotional health. The panel of experts comprises of Dr Prabha Chandra, Psychiatrist; Dr Ashlesha Bagadia, Perinatal Psychiatrist and Family Psychotherapist; Dr Uma Ram, Obstetrician; Dr Shaibya Saldanha, Obstetrician and lactation expert; and Dr Sonia Parial, Psychiatrist.

The video starts with presentations on - Talking about your emotional health with your obstetrician by Dr Uma Ram, and Maternity and Emotional Health by Dr Ashlesha Bagadia. Also, Aashika has shared her personal story on the significance of personal and healthcare support systems for maternal mental health.
