Panel discussion: What can a bystander do?

A symposium on women and abuse at home

According to the National Family Health Survey (2015 - 2016), one in three married women in India have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV). Domestic violence is prevalent all around us, we as bystanders we can play an important role in making the home safer a place for women. It is also an issue that needs to be addressed in the workplaces.

Watch our panelists Anika Verma, digital campaign lead, Breakthrough India, and Madhumitha Venkataraman, founder, Diversity Dialogues, in conversation with Ranjitha Jeurkar of White Swan Foundation, discussing the role of a bystander.

This panel discussion was recorded as a part of the symposium on women and abuse at home, hosted by White Swan Foundation on 9th September, 2020.
